Jean-Paul Gaultier embraced the new fashion for plus-sized models at Paris Fashion Week.

But instead of using the usual 'plus-sized models' -- who are size 14 or 16 -- the French designer pushed out the boundaries when he got a size 28 woman to open his show.

Beth Ditto, the frontwoman of punk band Gossip, proved to be a natural as she strutted her way down the catwalk during his spring-summer 2011 ready-to-wear show.

The singer had opened the show with a thunderous a cappella performance.

She also ended it, strutting down the catwalk in a specially made tight floral creation.
