Karlie Kloss "will not walk" at New York Fashion Week.

The model-of-the-moment has revealed she won’t be able to take part in any of the prestigious fashion shows due to an “engagement that has come up,” style website Modelinia reports.

While it hasn’t been confirmed what the engagement is, the announcement has caused a “whirlwind of speculation” according to the site.

Some industry insiders are convinced that Karlie is set to shoot her own Vogue cover, while other sources claim the 19-year-old could have been hired by prestigious lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret.

The model's profile is rising high in the fashion industry thanks to her strong features and standout runway walk, with everyone from Anna Wintour to Marc Jacobs declaring their admiration for the beauty.

Karlie has previously booked prestigious assignments with Christian Dior and Donna Karan.

Her management commented that the American clothes horse is “very likely” to return to the catwalk in Milan and Paris.
