January Jones confirmed as new face of Versace
Mad men star January Jones set to star in Versace spring/summer 2011 campaign.
Continuing the current predilection for designers using celebrities to front their ad campaigns, it has been confirmed that Mad Men star January Jones will be the face of Versace's spring/summer 2011 campaign.
The former model met Versace's creative director Donatella Versace on a shoot for US Elle magazine last year, and the pair struck up a friendship, which led to Jones wearing Atelier Versace to the 2010 Emmy awards, sitting front row at the Versace catwalk show at Milan Fashion Week and, most recently, hosting a charitable dinner with the designer at the Connaught Hotel in London to celebrate the launch of Central Saint Martins 20-20 Fashion Fund.
Jones, whose off-screen style couldn't be further from the ladylike 1950s styles she wears in her role as TV's most beautiful 'bitch' Betty Draper in Mad Men, seems the perfect fit for Versace's bright and sexy sculpted collection.
A spokesman for Versace confirmed that Jones would appear in the campaign, shot by Mario Testino, but declined to give any further details at this time.
