Jane Given makes rare public appearance in €1,500 designer dress
She's made a conscious effort to avoid the limelight of late, but Jane Given has stepped out in style.
The former wife of Irish footballer Shay Given was one of the VIP guests at the annual CARI summer lunch, to raise funds for the children's sexual abuse charity.
And she was dressed to impress in a patterned, sheer lace dress by Peter Pilotto, which comes with an eye-watering €1,483 price tag.
She accessorised her stunning dress, which was also worn by Made in Chelsea fashionista Millie Mackintosh earlier this week, with a €695 white patent YSL clutch.
The Scottish schoolteacher is close pals with charity patron and lunch hostess Miriam Ahern and her daughters Cecelia and Georgina.
Among the other celebrity guests in attendance were Yvonne Keating, Virginia Macari and model Ruth Griffin, who recently announced her retirement.
Jane and Shay parted ways early last year after being married for 12 years and Shay began dating PR girl Becky Gibson.
The father-of-two left the couple’s €2m mansion in Cheshire and began a new life with his girlfriend shortly after the marriage ended.
In March last year, she hit the headlines as it was announced Shay was leaving her and the family home.
They were reported to have separated months before the news was made public.
The Premier League footballer moved into a smaller townhouse just four miles away in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
His new partner, promotions girl Becky, received a stream of online abuse from a Twitter troll because of her relationship with Shay.
She previously dated footballer Nicky Hunt, who plays for League Two team Accrington Stanley, shortly before meeting the Irish goalkeeper.
Jane and Shay met in 1990 in Glasgow when the Donegal native played for Newcastle United and Jane was working as a teacher.
