Irish models 'discovered' by John Rocha
Every designer has a muse.
And John Rocha always made a habit of casting both up and coming and established models from his native Ireland when it came to choosing his catwalkers.
He gave supermodels in the making Thalia Heffernan, Danielle Winckworth and Laura O'Grady their big breaks and also the platform to debut at London Fashion Week.
Since walking in his shows from 2011 onward, all when they were aged 16-17, these three Irish teens are on the cusp of fashion superstardom.
Danielle Winckworth made her LFW debut in 2011 with John Rocha. She has since signed with Storm in London, Ford Models in new York and Morgan the Agency in her native Dublin. She's also walked for Rachel Zoe and DKNY at New York Fashion Week. Did we mention she's only sitting her Leaving Cert this year?
Thalia Heffernan can also credit John Rocha with giving her her LFW debut. Thalia is one of Ireland's top models, a catwalk stalwart and making waves in London as well.
Laura O'Grady is undoubtedly his biggest success troy of all. At just 18 years old, she landed a coveted catwalk contract with YSL during Paris Fashion Week, as well as appearing in a number of other shows over PFW last year. She's worked in London, New York and Milan. She's been featured in Vogue and Elle. Basically, if its big in fashion - she's been there., or at least she's working on it.
