This new crop of beauty pageant hopefuls are competing for the title of Miss University.

Reigning title holder Gemma Fowler will crown her replacement this week, and the up and comers decided to go head first into the Irish modelling scene by posing in bikinis.

And where else? At Stephen's Green.

The 35 contestants will take to Dandelion pub to compete for the title and represent Miss University at the Miss Ireland pageant.

The winner will also nab a year long modelling contract with Assets, a personal trainer and more.

Previous winner Holly Carpenter went on to win the national title and is now of one of Ireland's top models, nabbing a place in the finals of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model with Elle MacPherson and competed at Miss World in 2011.
