The 53-year-old former supermodel recently released a book about style in which she explained it’s important to have classic pieces in your wardrobe rather than a lot of trendy items. She has now revealed buying garments which will last doesn’t mean she doesn’t go shopping much, as she’s always on the hunt for the ideal version of certain items.

“I’m not sentimental about fashion. I love clothes, but things are made to go away. I buy the same things over and over – navy sweaters (I have 18 but still haven’t found the perfect one), white jeans, black loafers and Roger Vivier ballerinas in suede or python,” she told the July issue of Elle.

Inès had a hugely successful career and was even Karl Lagerfeld’s muse at one point. She is now is brand ambassador for Roger Vivier and the face of L'Oréal Paris, but has explained a career in fashion wasn’t something she thought was possible when she was growing up.

“You might not believe it, but growing up I wanted to be a children’s psychoanalyst,” she laughed. “I loved fashion but at the time it was considered frivolous, so I didn’t allow myself to consider it as a future career.”
