In search of...The great white shirt
Published 13/07/2014 | 02:30
Powerful in the office and a godsend at weekends, but finding the great white shirt has turned into something of a Holy Grail.
This week we look at some mid-summer buys, perfect to throw on with jeans, and cooling after a day on the beach
Tips from Make Up For Ever on how to achieve a natural and healthy sun-kissed look
Apply Uplight (€33) to the high points of the face, including the cheekbones, to accentuate these features.
Use the water-based foundation Face and Body (€37) for a light to medium coverage foundation.
To further accentuate the cheekbones, use the HD Blush 225 (€28) to achieve a healthy glow and sculpted finish.
To create a structured brow, or to accentuate the natural shape of the brows, use the Aquabrow (€20) which is a waterproof product that will ensure your brows stay in place all day. Use the 270 Angled brush.
To cover fake tan blunders or to even out any patches, Face and Body is ideal. It is waterproof and non transferable on clothes.
To fix your make-up in place, spray a light coat of Mist and Fix (€23.50) over your finished make-up to ensure it lasts and looks fresh all day.
To accentuate the collar bones, use the powdered illuminator Shine On (€35) to give a great subtle glowing finish.
Hair advice from Joe Hayes, Toni & Guy, Clarendon Street, Dublin 2
Tousled beach hair is easy to achieve and equally suitable for night or day.
To get the look at home, start by washing and conditioning hair. Then towel dry and spray a texturising spray through the hair.
Power dry the product into the hair roughly, keeping any wave or texture.
If you need more texture, use a wand to softly wave some random ends. Then just roll the hair loosely at the end and pin it into place and spray with some hairspray.
