Warm days, cool nights, windy afternoons. Gone are the floaty days of summer and sadly dressing practically is with us once again. But this doesn't mean those transitional wardrobes have to be expensive!

Mixing the old favourites from your summer wardrobe and bringing in this seasons newer pieces will help make the most of what you have and have loved and also allows you to mix and match newer trends without having to dive right in.

Whilst you're keeping the layers coming and the fabrics flowing don't forget to add some weight with plenty of chunky accessories.

For the perfect September wardrobe, team those knits and separates with shirts and maxi dresses and dig out some of those classics.

Making a welcome return from last season, ponchos and capes are the perfect items for autumnal layering.

Finally, before you gasp you've nothing to wear and reach for the plastic, are there any of us who don't have a shawl or two that will go with just about everything and pull an outfit together. Enjoy the season ahead !
