Froth and frills were all over the Spring/Summer catwalks. Ultra-feminine and romantic these are dresses that were made to be loved. White, nude, blush or vibrant red they all have something in common - ruffles.

  • Go To

There is no limit as to how far you take this trend. Big or small, modest or just plain showy, it’s entirely up to you.

Stella McCartney offered up gigantic one-shouldered ruffles in printed pillar-box red and finished sharp suits with a ruffle. Chloe gave us floor length, multi-tiered versions in white while Valentine edged his romantic dresses with lines of ruffles.

Tips for wearing ruffles:

Look for one-shouldered style dresses with a ruffle as they are undoubtedly the biggest trend this season.

Team with something tailored-a top with ruffles should go with skinny jeans, a ruffle skirt needs a slim vest top to counteract the volume. It’s all about balance.

If you’ve got big hips keep ruffles to your top half-particularly the shoulders

If you’ve got a big chest-steer clear or any ruffles in that area. On the flip side if you’re small in the bust embrace big ruffles to add volume and give you curves you never thought possible!

Look to accessories for a nod to the ruffle trend-shoes, bags and scarves all have ruffle details this season.
