Lace is a unique fabric that has continuity throughout the ages and this year’s AW catwalks did nothing but reinforce the power of the delicate little fabric that is lace.

Bustling with lacy looks from romantic lilac as seen on Miu Miu’s catwalk to Christopher Kane’s gothic grunge look, a splash of lace can work wonders for any outfit, whatever your style.

For a full-on lace look try a dress or skirt like this River Island ra-ra style skirt, a bargain at only €40. For those feeling a little less than brave add a dash of lace to a pretty blouse for an instant trend injection. The high street has gone nuts for sweaters trimmed with lace sleeves or shoulders.

For less frilly frock and more grunge rock, darken the hue and go for a slightly gothic look as seen on the catwalk at Givenchy. Team with leather and a blazer for a sharper, edgier take on the trend. Add a smoky eye, some red lips and a flash of flesh.

And if the idea of head to toe lace simply doesn’t float your boat then add a flicker of lace with a headband, a scarf, a glove or a shoe. One thing’s for sure-lace is one versatile trend guaranteed to tickle everyone’s fancy!
