How can I find a debs dress on a budget?

I'm looking for a dress for my debs. I'm on a budget of €250 to €300, but every store I visit has evening dresses from €400 to €600 and upwards!
I hate traditional dresses in awful jewel tones with sparkle and diamante detailing. I'd love something different that wasn't predictable.
Can you give any on-budget recommendations?
Try theoutnet.com, netaporter's sister outlet website. Visit regularly and look through all entries. Although prices can start from €4,000, there are pieces within your budget such as the sunset blush jersey dress by Allegra Hick. It was €467.83, now it costs €163.74.
For something more elegant, look out for the Armand Basi black silk strapless evening dress. Originally €473.92, it's now priced at €189.57. There are even some Alberta Ferretti evening dresses reduced to €255!
Next I'd trawl eBay's new outlet site on outlet.ebay. co.uk/fashion for accessories. Here you can find thousands of un-worn designer and high-street clutch bags from €6.
For a high-street alternative check out Principles by Ben de Lisi's one-shoulder silver dress. Go online and take inspiration from '90s Gucci ad campaigns and style yourself with your hair back in a sleek bun with an oil slick of black eye liner -- make-up can be an affordable and dramatic accessory.
Check out Dorothy Perkins' gold sequins dress (€230) which would make an impact with little else except a boxy clutch.
Finally, for a shoe-string budget look get a plain dress such as this navy maxi from bonprix.co.uk which also comes in black, white, and cherry. Add drama with gold-drop earrings a bold cuff and a gold clutch for a look far more stylish than the acres of satin in your bog-standard debs dress!
