Tactile knits with lustrous brocades, raw-edge gold lace spiked with leather, Gatsby-esque sequins with eyelash knits and textured croc skins – it's a playful blend of glam winter woolies with a sprinkling of glitter, the ideal mix for the weekends leading up to the advent of the party season.
And speaking of parties, we found ourselves celebrating at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick which marks 40 years in business this weekend with an opportunity to bring together its 90 retailers for special activities such as fashion shows today and Santa's arrival at 1pm tomorrow.
Back in the 1970s, fashion looks in vogue oscillated from Boho to Disco Glam, Annie Hall androgyny to Punk.
Fashion stalwarts include Connolly's menswear, who were there from the start, and the centre's flagship retail stores which include Penneys, Shaws, Heatons, Tesco, Zara, Next, H&M, River Island, Monsoon, Promod, Fields Jewellers, Pamela Scott and A wear.
