For those suffering from sequin fatigue, here's top model Thalia making all black appear completely glamorous.

If you don't do girly, or are not keen on the idea of shelling out for a party frock that you may rarely wear, this is the perfect thing for Christmas nights out. It's actually just jeans and a black blouse, but with good accessories and some great high heels, this outfit will take you anywhere. This is a look that will suit a woman of any age. Twenty-year old Thalia does a great line in not overdoing it on a night out. She rarely opts for boring bodycon, and often favours trousers and a top over a dress.

Stylemma

Dear Stylemma,

I have a wedding coming up next month. I have a dress, but want a black blazer to wear over it. Ideally, I'd like a one-button style, and something fairly dressy, nothing too loose or casual. I want this for events and nights out, not for the office.

Reply: Marks & Spencer has a one-button blazer with satin-look lapels, in black, €105. For the price, it's an excellent cut and feels like really good quality; the fabric has a wool content. Reiss has a couple of one-button, single-breasted blazers in black, for around the €340-€370 mark. They are a bit pricey, but the cut is really good. For the other end of the price scale, Zara has a black, fitted, well-cut, one-button blazer with a leather collar, €59.95.
