Get the look: Rozanna Purcell
Rozanna Purcell is perfectly pulling off Scandi-style here. First there's the palette; black, grey and white. Rather limited, but pretty much all we want to be wearing at this time of year.
Throw in a scarf if you really need some colour. Then there's the white trainers. Scandi-style is all about being stylishly comfortable rather than uncomfortably glamorous. And the beanie hat and biker jacket finish it off nicely, giving it that essential androgynous quality.
I'm 53, 5ft 5in, a size 14 in dresses, a 12 in trousers, but heavy around the middle. I'm going to my niece's confirmation soon, and I don't know what to wear. What colour and style are in fashion?
We would advise largely ignoring what's in fashion. Who cares? Go with what suits your shape and complexion. If your legs are your feature, stick with fairly fitted, well-cut dresses; anything too loose will make you look bigger. Or try a sharp blazer and slim trousers, with a cowl-necked top underneath. We would advise a trip to Arnotts' mezzanine level and also to Coast, who have occasion-wear dresses that are lined, and therefore more flattering, and of a decent length.
