Ladies Day at the races and wedding-guest dressing often bring out the worst in us - florals, flounces, fluorescents.
This modern take on 1970s-Grecian, by top model and foodie Rozanna Purcell, is a perfect antidote to that sort of thing. The colour palette is pleasingly neutral.
The dress is grown-up - a nice change from the rather fussy girlishness so many wedding-guests resort to. As is the Crombie coat. And the headpiece - a headband, rather than anything of a feathered nature - is an excellent option.
Question: I have a white summer skirt and I'm finding it difficult to know what to wear with it. It's a cotton-lace fabric, quite delicate and girlie. I'd like to wear it to work, but everything seems too dressy, as if I'm going to a wedding. Please advise.
Answer: The temptation with summer whites is to keep going along delicate, pale-tones lines. Actually, you should do the opposite. Think J Crew. Think preppy. Team your white skirt with a grey T-shirt, or a lightweight grey jumper, a Breton top, a blue Oxford shirt, or a simple, fitted, cotton top in a darker shade. Basically, team it with the opposite of the lacy whiteness of the skirt. Also, don't be afraid of wearing dark shoes with white, the combination does work.
