Dolce and Gabbana watch out - you could soon have Irish fashion rivals in the form of William Shannon Doyle (pictured below) and Adam Henderson, who have just pulled off a sensational fashion double.

Adam won the River Ireland Bursary last year, and yesterday his boyfriend William (22), from Templeogue in Dublin, was named the 2016 winner. The bursary is worth €3,500 plus a paid three-month internship in the River Island design studio in London.

"I'm in shock," said William, who wasn't the least bit superstitious about being the 13th winner named on the 13th of the month.

This bursary offers final-year students at the NCAD an invaluable first step into the world of commercial fashion.

Educated at Sandford Park School, William met Adam when they were studying at the NCAD.

"Adam's advice to me when I set about this project was to think about the River Island customer. He said to me 'this is not about your soul and your opinion, it is about what the customer would wear'."
