Pyjama power takes centre stage at Brown Thomas
Call it pyjama power, but humble night attire has moved firmly centre stage.
The new lifestyle trend is for girls to come home from work, kick off the heels, slip out of the underwired bras and office clothes and change into mannish, silky PJs to chill.
The growing love affair with PJs has turned into a major success story for Olivia von Halle, from London, whose purple silk Coco pyjamas were one of the stars of the 'Fit to Look Fabulous' lingerie show at Brown Thomas yesterday.
Olivia was inspired by the lounging pyjamas worn by Coco Chanel and her contemporaries in the 1920s. Her sumptuous, tailored PJs feature piping, notched collars, pockets and cuffs. Roslyn Ellis, group lingerie buyer at BT, reports trends of jewel tones like emerald, midnight blue, purples and pinks. They also stock limited edition Wolford tights with Swarovski crystal embellishment.
