'People are surprised I have a sense of humour' - Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham has revealed her most shocking personality trait - her sense of humour.
Posing as the cover star of the July edition of Elle Singapore, she opens up about her fun-loving side, which, she says, shocks most people when she first meets them.
"People are probably surprised that I have a sense of humour. I like to take the mickey out of myself," she told the magazine. "As much as I take what I do very seriously, I also want to have fun. I like to poke fun at myself… And I think that surprises people.”
With her eponymous label going from strength to strength, the mum-of-four said her goal is to empower women through her clothing line.
“We have five categories now: The main line, VVB [Victoria by Victoria Beckham], denim, eyewear and also handbags. We’ve started pre-collections as well, over the past few seasons. E-commerce is doing very, very well. We’re going to open our first flagship store in London, which I’m very excited about.”
“I think that she’s a woman that wants to look good. Appreciates luxury. Likes fashion. I want to make a woman feel her best. I want to empower women," she added.
The former Spice Girl has carefully constructed her image from peroxide blonde WAG to legitimate style icon over the last decade, and as a result, has developed a controlling side.
“I just like to be very involved with every element of my business. And I have a great team of people that work with me. But I’m very, very involved. My name is on the label, I have a point of view. And it’s important that it comes from me. I don’t want to hand that over to anybody else. I wouldn’t know how to."
