Missing model Ataui Deng Hopkins has apparently been found in a New York City hospital.
The 22-year-old fashion star was last seen on August 6 near the Big Apple's The Attic Club, after which her boyfriend Grant Monohon reported her missing.
However, a hospital worker is believed to have called police yesterday to confirm Atui Deng is a patient at the facility after hearing of her disappearance. It has yet to be confirmed why the model was admitted and where exactly she is being treated, but New York Daily News claim she is not at risk.
Her disappearance triggered a mass following, with pop star Rihanna joining in the hunt to find her. Ataui Deng previously modelled for the musician's River Island collection.
"If any one has any information on this young lady’s whereabouts, please call the NYPD or email firstname.lastname@example.org (sic)," Rihanna wrote on Twitter just yesterday, before she was found. The singer also added a photo of the pair during their time working together on the high street label.
Ataui Deng's beau Grant appeared distressed following his girlfriend's disappearance, and shared his concern at her odd behaviour.
“She’s the most gorgeous soul, she’s the sweetest woman. She’s just acting irregular lately,” he previously said.
“It’s not irregular for her not to come back for a day or two. On the third day I was getting really worried... She’s been missing for too long. I’m terrified. It’s been crazy.”
She moved to America from Sudan in 2004, and was signed to Trump Model Management in 2008. Since beginning her career in the US, she has walked for the likes of the late L'Wren Scott, Vivienne Westwood and Zac Posen.
