"I love hanging out with my friends as much as possible, but they are all in college now and have their new groups," the 19-year-old said.

"Their lives are totally different to mine," she added.

While her friends are heading off on an InterRailing trip, Thalia is spending three months working in Australia.

But the people she meets on the modelling scene are a poor substitute for her Dublin friends she said.

"It's not the most friendly environment," she said. "The models don't care for you that much. A lot of them just regard you as competition," she told Life Magazine.

The leggy beauty, who was linked with One Direction star Niall Horan this year, has been setting the modelling world alight since she was just 15.

However, she doesn't regret starting her career so young as it was something she wanted from a very early age.

"I found a diary from when I was about seven and on every page had a little box saying what do you want to do when you grow up? On every single page I had written model," she revealed.

Despite having to grow up faster
than her friends, Thalia said she wouldn't change a thing.

"I threw myself in the deep end, it can be sad to think that I've missed out on a lot of my teenage years and things that my friends would have done, but it's amazing too and I wouldn't change it," she said.ie
