How this Kildare model dominated during Fashion Month and shared the runway with Kendall Jenner
We've got a thing for Irish success abroad.
And we've made no secret of our girl crush on Kildare model Lorna Foran, but the 26-year-old only went and beat her own record during Fashion Month and is officially becoming "a name".
The flame haired beauty, from Celbridge, walked an incredible 16 shows around New York, London, Paris and Milan in the last four weeks, sharing the runway with Kendall Jenner during Miu Miu in Paris and for Marc Jacobs in New York; walked for Bottega Veneta with supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid and in Milan and when she sashayed down the runway for Gucci, A-listers including Tom Hiddleston, Alexa Chung, Florence Welch and Salma Hayek.
In short, she's becoming kind of a big deal.
Foran's fast rise began last year, when she made her catwalk debut for Gucci and walked exclusively for the Italian fashion house for two seasons and earlier this year, she was unveiled as the face of Vivienne Westwood's watch campaign.
She is now based in London, when she's not jet-setting around the globe for work, which she says she thinks she's better equipped for because she was relatively older getting into the modellin game.
"It depends on how you are yourself. If you sit down and don’t talk to anyone, that creates a bad atmosphere, but to be fair a lot of the girls are really young. I’m probably one of the older ones," she told independent.ie in September.
"I’m 25 now, I’m practically a fossil! The other girls are generally between 16 and 19, some of them are there with their mams. It must be terrifying if you’re that young."
Despite her growing international success, Lorna only committed to modelling full-time last year and had been previously double jobbing as a retail manager.
"I did fit modelling for a designer who introduced me to a photographer who liked redheads. They sent my picture to her and I shot for i-D magazine later that day," she explained of her breakout moment.
"It was on and off for a while after that, but then an agency got in touch with me and said it was probably my time and I should do it now. That was three months ago."
