Gisele was told she'd never make it as a model because her 'nose is too big and eyes are too small'
Gisele is definitely having the last laugh.
She's the wealthiest model in the world, with a net worth at an estimated €320m, but not everyone saw the Brazilian bombshell's potential at an early age.
In her early modelling days, she was largely criticised for her appearance and turned down by numerous agencies who said she'd never land a magazine cover because her "nose was too big". She's appeared on hundreds.
"I remember some people telling me my nose was too big or my eyes were too small, that I could never be on a magazine cover," she told People magazine.
"It wasn't easy to be 14 and hear that kind of criticism. It made me feel insecure. I told my dad, and he said, 'Next time, tell them, I have a big nose and that comes with a big personality'. At that point I felt, if I kept working hard and giving my best, it would all work out."
Gisele was eventually signed by Elite models in 1997 and the rest is history.
