Amy Schumer never holds back, that's for sure.

The stand-up comedian and actress gave E! host Giuliana Rancic a surprise when she told her exactly what she was wearing on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night.

When the Fashion Police co-host asked Schumer who designed her gown, she gave a truly brilliant response.

“I’m wearing Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford shoes and an OB tampon!” declared Schumer, bouncing around, while Rancic literally retreated in response.

Viewers were quick to take to Twitter with their thoughts about the Trainwreck star's answer, which garnered a mixed reaction.

"Amy Schumer breaking period taboo by giving a shout out to her tampon when asked what she's wearing," wrote one user.

"Amy Schumer announcing on the red carpet that she was wearing a tampon garnered a very loud slow clap from me," wrote another.

Not everyone was impressed with the star's honesty, however.

"Amy Schumer said on live television she's wearing a tampon. This is what passes as "comedy" and "feminism" nowadays," said one user.

Schumer's response was a nod to the #AskHerMore campaign, which aims to put a stop to sexist reporting and ask women about their achievements, rather than what apparel they have on.
