This Week's Best Dressed
From the CFDA and Glamour Women of the Year Awards ceremonies, to premieres and parties; those A-listers were busy bees this week.
Let’s see who did it in style.
The cream of the fashion crop were in New York’s Alice Tully Hall on Monday night for the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers America awards.
While the world continues to debate Rihanna’s risqué Adam Selman number, here are the ladies who stood out:
Model Chrissy Teigen wore a coral mini dress with netted underlay by the designer Rachel Roy, whom she accompanied to the event. Mrs. John Legend teamed the dress with a matching blazer, gold clutch and nude courts.
The anti-thesis to the glam sequined gowns on display, Liya Kebede looked fresh and sophisticated in a Wes Gordon grandfather collar blouse, calf length embellished skirt, finishing off the look with sleek white accessories.
American model Hilary Rhoda showed off her impeccable figure in a sheer, peach lace gown by J Mendel. The former face of Estée Lauder added a touch of sparkle with a Jimmy Choo clutch and diamond jewellery.
Two Broke Girls actress Beth Behrs wore a striking emerald green ensemble by Alice + Olivia. She vamped up the look with a teased updo, black strappy sandals and an eye catching embellished clutch.
At the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday, a myriad of celebrities were in attendance to support high profile women in the entertainment and fashion industries.
Sarah Hyland, of Modern Family fame, shimmered in a Gucci t-shirt style sequin dress, nude Louboutins and gold accessories.
Awarded ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ on the night, Alexa Chung looked polished to perfection in a Christian Dior spaghetti-strap dress with a sheer embellished bodice. Her formerly porcelain-pale skin had a noticeable bronzed glow and the signature brogues were replaced with minimal heeled sandals- more of this please.
Kate Bosworth was immaculately groomed at a dinner for beauty brand SK-II. The petite actress wore an architectural rose-print dress by Giambattista Valli. Adding dark brown courts, a graceful updo and soft coral lipstick, Kate looked simply ethereal.
Also impressing in Giambattista Valli this week was actress Diane Kruger. At the mytheresa.com dinner event in her honour, she wore a structured ivory dress from the Spring 2014 Couture collection that featured mint-green embroidery and revealed a floral underlay. As one of the most stylish women in the world, she did not disappoint on this occasion.
For the 2014 Maui Film Festival opening night in Hawaii, Emma Roberts wore a two piece outfit from Catherine Malandrino’s Spring 2013 collection. The sweetheart bustier and pencil skirt, both in a white macramé fabric, showed off her graceful figure without being overtly sexy. Rose gold pumps and neat poker straight hair sealed the deal.
Similarly, Shailene Woodley looked to die for but demure at the New York premiere for her movie ‘The Fault in Our Stars’. For the final stop on the promotional tour, she opted for a fitted column gown by Ralph Lauren in a vivid canary hue. Her cropped pixie cut and a simple gold pendant were the only required accessories.
Newly wed Poppy Delevingne has the fashion world at her feet following her two incredible bridal looks. At Frida Giannini’s Gucci beauty launch in New York, the socialite and model opted for a pastel yellow Gucci dress with embellished shoulder detailing. Innately stylish Poppy finished off the look with lace-up bronze sandals, a bouncy blow dry and sun kissed complexion.
Top marks this week go to Jaime King, for not one but three consecutive style hits.
At the CFDA Awards, she wore a white dress with sheer detailing and tiered fringing from Calvin Klein’s Spring 2014 collection and a white gold ear cuff.
The previous night, she attended the Simon G Soiree in Las Vegas in an elegant mid-length dress by Katie Ermilio dress with long sleeves and candy-coloured stripes. She accessorised with Kurt Geiger pumps and a Charlotte Olympia clutch.
On Wednesday, the model turned actress attended the Christian Louboutin Cocktail party in New York’s The McKittrick Hotel to celebrate the new mens collection. Again opting for Katie Ermilio, she wore a navy long sleeved crop top and a full mid length skirt with an oversized bow on the waist band. She fittingly wore white Christian Louboutins for the event.
