Those fashion leaders that dominate the high street need to move over, here are some of the new kids on the block.

1. ECCO

Danish shoe brand ECCO is synonymous with 'breathable and comfortable' shoes, but recently it has undergone a reinvention.

The newly launched ECCO 02 caught our eye with its sleek design and leather finish. On the plus side, the shoe still incorporates the innovative technology that the brand strives to deliver - these shoes are climate controlled, are built to keep water out while still allowing air to circulate through the shoe.

2. Heatons

Heatons has long been the go to place for finding affordable fashions for the whole family and good quality homeware. Hence our delight when they branched out into swimwear. Their lookbook, shot on location in South Africa, shows a collection of fashionable two pieces, swimsuits, cover ups and kimonos. Better yet, they all come in at the great price points which we have come to associate the department store with.

3. Life Style Sports

Ever since designers like Alexander Wang brought their sports luxe aesthetic to the runway, wearing athletic-inspired separates outside of they gym has become second nature. However, there's only so much black, grey and white we can take. Life Style Sports is a mecca for cool and comfortable workout gear that functions just as well on the street as it does in spin class.

4. Tesco

Where's the last place you'd expect to find your wedding dress? Probably in the aisle next to the frozen vegetables. Alas, every little helps as the supermarket knows. Inspired by the success of their in house clothing label Florence & Fred, Tesco is now selling bridal gowns from as little as €104, and bridesmaids dresses from €20.50.

5. Carraig Donn

Long standing Irish store Carraig Donn is the first port of call when it comes to sourcing beautiful gifts and remains a popular destination for more mature shoppers to find elegant occasion wear.  But did you know that the 50-year-old company also offers more trend focused items at affordable prices? Case in point, this black leather jacket with floral detailing on the sleeves, a mere steal for €69.95.
