The American model has just completed a successful run at Fashion Weeks, most recently taking to the runway for Chloé in Paris.

Away from the high end designer goods she's often seen modelling, 26-year-old Dree describes her personal style as "comfort", something Cole Haan strives to achieve.

“I don’t think [style] is about a piece of clothing or an accessory wearing you. It’s about you wearing it. I’m very much about less-is-more, and being sexy without trying too hard. I like understated and I like classic," Dree explained to WWD.

As well as starring in their ad campaigns, Dree will also be co-creating a pinnacle collection for the brand.

She'll be collaborating on a shoe and handbag range as part of her role as global ambassador.

"I like being on the other side of things. Being able to get involved with a brand that’s so iconic and has such a huge heritage… I like the fact that they are letting me have a little bit of creative control and run with my ideas" she smiled.

"The aesthetic that I’m looking for is something really well made and something that you just want to throw on every day. I don’t think that’s not within Cole Haan right now. I don’t want to turn them into something that they’re not. I think that their brand is so true to an iconic and timeless moment."

Cole Haan's chief marketing officer David Maddox is thrilled with the new appointment and has enjoyed sitting down and brainstorming with Dree.

The fact that Dree has a say in the collection has proved to be a hit with the rest of the team too. "We spent a considerable amount of time looking at what makes Cole Haan an American icon. Dree, to us, represents that perfect muse for the top end of the Millennial generation. She represents this wonderful optimism and this art of the future," David gushed.

Dree's first campaign is due out in Fall 14.

The brand is also making moves into the Asian market, something Dree will be a part of.
