Darren Kennedy: Style dilemma

QWith all the body-con dresses out at the moment, I wondered if there is such a thing as undies that give you bigger hips? I am very straight up and down and would love to know if there is such a thing? Thanks!
Pat, 36, Cork
A In order to give the impression of bigger hips, you need to create a curvier shape. The first place to start is with your bum.
The magic pantie by Huit has embedded bum implants, which will help to create a curvier shape. Cup Cakes Lingerie in Ranelagh stocks the magic knickers (€46) in a range of colours, including nude, hot pink, white and black.
Likewise, the Briefie from Yummie Tummie (€51, available from Arnotts and Brown Thomas) is a classic piece that slims the stomach while skimming the hips and creating a real hourglass figure. It also comes in a thong version for €48. Alternatively, a corset will cinch the waist and accentuate the hips, creating lovely curves. Elixir de Lingerie, available in Brown Thomas, is renowned for its high standards of corsetry, with a wide range of every shape.
Q I am going to a wedding at the end of the month and I don't know what to wear. I love Diane Kruger's style and I was hoping that you could suggest an outfit based on something she might wear. I want to look stylish despite the cold! Thanks,
A A close friend to Karl Lagerfeld, Diane Kruger always manages to pull off old-school glamour like very few of her contemporaries. What I love about her style is how she effortlessly fuses trendled fashion with chic elegance to create standout looks all of her own. Ever demure, she's a master of flashing flesh without revealing too much. Instead of cleavage, she opts for the less-obvious shoulder with Grecian styles a favourite. French Connection has a sequin dress (€230) that has been inspired by some of the vintage pieces Diane has been snapped wearing.
Such a dress speaks for itself, so just team it with an understated pair of black heels for a stunning look. A slightly more subtle but equally impressive number is the Olivia Rubin Matisse Dress from Doo-Lally.com (€148.50). If you'd prefer to go full length, then check out the sultry red number from Warehouse. I can picture Diane wearing all three.
