When All-American brand Tommy Hilfiger announced the All-American girl Gigi Hadid as its global brand ambassador last December, it was a sure sign that bigger and better things were on the cards.

True enough, TommyXGigi has launched with Gigi having a hand in designing the items in a capsule collection across womenswear, sportswear, shoes and accessories. Featuring preppy tailoring, nautical motifs, distressed denim and luxe textures with lots of blue, white and red, it’s textbook Tommy with all the elements the house of Hilfiger is known for. What makes this collection different is a sprinkling of Gigi, and her West Coast roots. In keeping with this year’s most prolific trend, there’s a distinct 1970s aesthetic to the collection, with quirky prints and maxi dresses, oversized sweater dresses and fabric belted waist-ties. If you’re stocking up on key layering pieces for the season ahead, this is a good place to start.

Stylish Getaway

Hipsters will be familiar with East London’s Hoxton hotel, situated a few minutes walk from Shoreditch high street. In 2014, they brought their distinct brand of cool into central London when they opened their doors with their first hotel on High Holborn, a stone’s throw away from Oxford Street, Soho and The West End. Offering a place for people to sleep, eat, work and play, the hotel’s rooms come in four different categories, ranging from ‘shoebox’ to ‘roomy’. The lobby is where it’s at with the Hubbard & Bell bar and restaurant, a lively after-work drinking/dining den. The design ethos is pared-down interiors with a vintage vibe. Think reclaimed teak stereo cabinets and old school chairs. The hotel also has it’s own little espresso bar, The Holborn Grind, just around the corner. If it’s great value in an excellent location you’re after, then this is the perfect base for your next shopping trip to the city. www.thehoxton.com

Musician Whinnie Williams (above) is all about the 70s vibes, and I love it! With her voluminous hair, shearling gilet, and retro neck scarf, she’s like a modern day Farrah Fawcett. And let’s face it, that could never be bad thing. These retro-inspired buys will help you get the look
