Closet Confidential: Wendy Crawford

Angela Scanlon

Wendy Crawford is an NCAD textiles graduate and currently works as a designer and freelance personal stylist. She also is a co-owner of Bow Boutique in Powerscourt Townhouse, Dublin.  I spoke to Wendy about street style, tutus and our mutual hatred of skin-coloured tights!

First fashion memory

Wearing a ballet tutu and legwarmers in my front living room when I was four pretending I was in Fame!

Favourite designer label

Too many to mention but Isabel Marant is one at the moment. Although I’m mostly inspired by what people wear on the streets rather than designers.

Favourite high street store

Topshop.

Best bargain buy

A €1 charity shop blouse. It has an amazing ruffle collar and buttons down the back. I also got a Mulberry bag for €1 once too!

Most expensive item in your wardrobe

Marc Jacobs handbag.

Top of your wish list

Camilla Norrback, pink peep toe ankle boots. They will be mine!

Most stylist moment

I like everyday street style more than ‘big event’ kind of style. My favourite moments are always quite by accident.

Biggest fashion faux pas

Nude tights. I just can't!

Style icon

My mum and Alexa Chung!

Era you’d love to have lived in

Forties and Fifties.

Fashion or style

Style - always.

Finally, what did you have for breakfast this morning!?

A latte!
