Laura Cunningham is one half of the cut-throat blogging duo Style Bitches and regularly appears on Ireland AM. This summer she’ll be travelling around Ireland with Diet Coke’s Love It Light tour, offering style advice and showing girls how to be fashion fierce in this season’s hottest trends. But what has she got hanging inside her own closet?
First fashion memory
Buying clothes for the first time myself, with my confirmation money! I remember moss-green leggings and a cream jumper dress.
Favourite designer label
At the moment it's Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve range. It's so well cut and wearable. It's also not extortionate in price so us mere mortals can afford it. The autumn/winter collection for this year is awesome! Pretty with hints of masculinity thrown in.
Favourite high street store
Topshop and Urban Outfitters. They always have what you're looking for and give you fresh ideas too.
Best bargain buy
A Missoni dress in the Vincent de Paul shop for €7!
Most expensive item in your wardrobe
A beautiful lace Pinko dress which was gifted to me after a photoshoot. I love free stuff!
Top of your wish list
A Padraig Sweeney handbag. I'm 30 this September … that's all I'm saying!
Most stylish moment
On holidays a few years back I went to dinner straight from the beach. I constructed a dress from the sarong I wore to the beach that morning and received countless compliments on my ‘new dress'.
Biggest fashion faux pas
There are two things I hate in this world and they are velvet and purple... I wore a purple, velvet gown to my Debs! Go figure. The photos have been burned and the counselling is helping.
I'm a lover of all things Olsen. Some might say they look homeless/like they're wearing their dad's clothes, but they can do no wrong in my eyes.
Era you’d love to have lived in
This one! Everything is a throwback to one era or another right now so it means we get to play dress up on a daily basis. It's also become more and more acceptable to be different and try things out.
Fashion or style?
Style for sure. But there's no doubting that fashion is great fun, as long as we don't become slaves to it.
Finally, what did you have for breakfast this morning!?
My flatmate Lucianne is a bit of a health nut. She made me fresh fruit salad with yogurt and toasted seeds. If I'd made it myself it probably would have been something of a fried nature.
