Jade Yourell is one of Ireland's brightest acting talents. She’s been nominated for an IFTA for her performance in "Happy Ever Afters" and will soon be travelling to the US with The Gate's production of "Present Laughter". We take a peek inside her eclectic closet.
First fashion memory
My parents were successful hairdressers in Galway and used to hold hair/fashion shows that were the highlight of the social calendar in the eighties! It would end with the bridal section and my brother, cousins and I were thrust on the stage in a mass of curls and bridesmaid dresses. I’ll never forget the hysteria backstage. It was so exciting watching all the glamour.
Favourite designer label
There are so many! I love Louise Kennedy, her elegant designs are beautiful. Peter O’Brien is another fave. I was blessed to wear his designs for the Gates production of ‘Present Laughter’ last summer.
Best bargain buy
I have two gorgeous dresses from Kate Moss’s range at Topshop. I keep going back to them.
Most expensive item in your wardrobe
A purple Herve Leger bandage dress and a Diane von Furstenburg wrap dress.
Top of your wish list
I have always coveted an Ellie Saab gown.
Most stylist moment
I hope it will be the IFTA’s!
Bianca Jagger in the 70’s and Audrey Hepburn. I love the style from the 40’s and 50’s.
Favourite high street store
Fashion or style
I love old school glamour and when I’m casual I tend to be a little eclectic, but I have always had a penchant for pretty dresses. If you saw me at home it’s comfort all the way, lets just say I’m not going to wash the dishes in the Herve Leger dress!
Finally, what did you have for breakfast this morning!?
A blueberry soy yoghurt, a boiled egg and some toast. I’m trying to be good for my IFTA dress!
