Colette Fitzpatrick broadcasts to more than one million viewers every week on TV3’s evening news. She also presents TV3’s daily chat show Midday and hosts the prime time current affairs show Midweek every Wednesday night. She took some time out of her jam-packed day to allow me to look inside her closet.

First fashion memory

Dressing up in my mother's clothes; clip clopping around in her high heels with a fake mink wrapped around me. I think I made a stab at dodgy blue eye shadow too.

Favourite designer label

John Mc Cormack. He's a fantastic Irish designer that specialises in beautiful structured dresses and suits. He's also made fabulous bridal and eveningwear for me!

Best bargain buy

Jeans from Karen Millen. When it comes to pay per wear-they cost me nothing!

Most expensive item in your wardrobe

An evening dress from Lara

Top of your wish list

A full-length sheepskin coat. I've been searching for the right one for years now and haven't found the perfect one yet.

Most stylist moment

It's not for me to say but maybe last year at the VIP Style Awards. I wore a fitted fuchsia pink gown by John McCormack. It had lovely ruffle detail on the neckline and I felt fabulous.

Style icon

Halle Berry. She never puts a foot wrong.

Favourite high street store

Karen Millen and Marks and Spencer. Neither ever fail me.

Fashion or style

At my age, it has to be style. Some fashion trends just don't suit me. Harem pants and cropped trousers are not a good look on a girl with short legs!

Finally, what did you have for breakfast this morning!?

Porridge, Low fat Greek yoghurt and honey and 3 black coffees. My breakfast almost never varies!

Colette is judging the Most Stylish Lady competition at this year’s Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Monday 5th April where the winner receives a €10,000 prize sponsored by Carton House.
