Clogs may not be the sexiest heel ever but if you’re keen to always be on top of the trends then it can’t be avoided. Where Chanel leads everyone else follows, and the clog despite it being the opposite of fashionable, is no different. Karl Lagerfeld used them in his SS10 collection where models strutted along a straw covered catwalk to the sounds of Lily Allen.

The high street stores have been quick to catch on and there are some great style whatever your tastes. Approach this trend with a sense of humour but don’t expect your boyfriend to say “they’re hot”. Because, in fairness, they’re not but sometimes that’s just the way it goes…

Tips for rocking clogs:

• Go for a heel - the higher the better

• Stick to chocolate, tan or black colours

• Team with denim for a cool relaxed look

• Avoid anything “folksy” or you may look like you’re in costume

• Don’t spend a months wages as this is definitely a passing trend
