Clever Couture: Stella McCartney from catwalk to high street

Stella McCartney paraded a mix of full-on show pieces as well as the beautifully wearable down the runway for her Autumn Winter collection. Everything from glimmering gold cocoon shapes to peplum skirts and trouser suits were included. But the ones that are getting her the most press are the spotty pieces.
Dots have never looked so sophisticated. Using a monochrome palette, she has made the most classic of pencil dresses look super modern by simply adding sheer panels of spotted tulle. Less is certainly more.
This highstreet version by Julien McDonald keeps it sexy with a plunging neckline. The key to keeping the look as refined as Stella McCartney is to emulate her slick side parting, the most natural of make-up and minimal footwear; a simple heeled ankle boot or clean black court will fit the bill perfectly.
