Clever Couture: Stella McCartney from catwalk to high street

Stella McCartney's collection has got plenty of press this season. And it's not surprising because from her floral swing dress with the swirling one-shoulder that screams summertime to her '70s-inspired, denim button-down skirts inspired by her mum, Linda, it's a stunning range.
What hasn't received as much attention are her superbly simple, tailored pieces. These include a poppy-coloured tunic, sapphire dress and khaki shorts, each of which are given a luxe finish in glossy silk shantung. This dusty pink, structured blazer is another example and is a great key piece for summer. Working hand in hand with a long fluid dress, they manage to complement each other surprisingly well.
Warehouse's maxi dress is slightly more ornate with its jewelled neck and empire-line cut, but use the blazer to effortlessly dress it down. Alternatively, Warehouse also have a selection of shorter draped dresses in muted greys that would work the look perfectly but give a more casual feel.
