Clever Couture: Prada from catwalk to high street

Prada sets the trends each season. This winter she doesn't disappoint with a 1950s-and-60s-inspired collection tinted with the signature style that Miuccia has become famous for such as hatch-prints, odd colour combinations and a love of granny chic with a fashion twist.
This translated into 1950s style cat's-eyes glasses, knitted over-the-knees socks and clumpy penny loafers with a platform heel or pointy patent kitten heels.
Like Marc Jacobs, Prada also championed the use of curvy models with Miranda Kerr and Douzen Kroes deftly showing off their killer curves in Prada's bust-heaving, waist-emphasising, hip-hugging dresses.
This collection was all about giving retro silhouettes a modern spin. Ever the scientist, Prada effortlessly mixed Nora Battersby-style coats with sexy Marilyn Monroe 1950s-style dresses contemporised with cut-away panels and bust-exaggerating ruffles.
