Clever Couture: Lanvin from catwalk to high street

There's something superbly confident about the swoosh of a floor-sweeping gown. This opening look from Lanvin proves it, complete with the added effect of a thigh-high slit.
Alber Elbaz cranks it up even more by contrasting the ethereal chiffon with leather harnessing, gladiator inspired footwear and chunky, raw metalwork jewellery.
The muted palette of aqua grey and tan tones keeps it incredibly sophisticated, while the slick back hair leaves the look totally uncompromised.
These metal cuff sandals from River Island are brilliantly similar to the flats worn later in the Lanvin show while this pleat skirt from M&S is a great summer staple.
Check out the Chloe show for a more casual way to wear it; teamed with red ballet pumps and slinky taupe top.
Plus, pleat skirts will follow through for next season so now is the time to snap one up.
