Clever Couture: Dolce & Gabbana from catwalk to high street

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana's label.
Their autumn show was like a greatest hits album of the label's classics and like remembering a great band's back catalogue, it highlighted D&G's most iconic looks: the perfectly tailored black jacket that instantly slims the silhouette, corsetry tops and dresses that nip and tuck the body, sexy black lace dresses and black Sicilian widow-style dresses that hug every curve.
It wouldn't be Dolce & Gabbana without animal print so, of course, D&G showed corseted floral slip dresses, another staple look.
At the end of the performance, a black-and-white movie showed the designers at work in their atelier surrounded by white-coated women crafting these clothes and reminding us of the history of the brand.
After 20 years, the pair's design vision is still as relevant and desirable today as it was when they first launched their label.
