Clever Couture: Calvin Klein from catwalk to high street

Uber-clean minimalism may be de rigueur at the moment but it's been the signature look at Calvin Klein since the brand's inception back in the 1960s. Clean lines, block colours and pared-back styling combine to create a cool, sophisticated look. Deceptive in its simplicity, the art is in the execution.
This season, the label's designer, Francisco Costa, used plunging v-necklines, sport-inspired racer backs and layered panels of leather and stiff silk to create interest.
Thanks to fashion's current love affair with this look, it's never been easier to achieve on a budget. The Swedes are no strangers to minimalism and brand Cos has the look nailed.
To keep the look cool, opt for low-key grooming. Resist the tumbling curls and stacks of jewellery; 'less is more' is the aim of the game.
