Brian Ormond was the happiest man in Ireland on Monday night judging by his smile as he watched his wife, Pippa O'Connor, launch her POCO jeans brand after months of plotting and planning.

Indeed, Brian was sent to scope out potential manufacturers when Pippa was pregnant with their second son. It was a night of celebrations and Brian presented flowers to all the girls in the team for their support.

The RHA Gallery (I love their Coppa coffee shop tucked in on Ely Place) is usually the hangout for artists, but the Gallery was well and truly taken over by the fashion set.

It was lovely to catch up with Julie Anne Dorff (pictured with Pippa) from Harper's Bazaar London, who I first got to know when she worked for Chanel in London. The last time we met, we were posh glamping at the swish Soho Farmhouse with the Dubarry Ireland team. Julie Anne stayed at the Shelbourne and came early so we could chat before she hosted a Q&A with Pippa. The magazine queen says it's all about the ankles for SS17, so Pippa is bang on trend.

DJ Mo Kelly entertained guests as House Dublin provided Aperol Spritz cocktails for guests who also nibbled on fresh pizza delivered to them in POCO-branded boxes. Alan Clancy, owner of House, has opened a venue in Limerick and he attended with his partner, Jacqueline Given, sister of footballer Shay. I bumped into knitwear designer Lucy Nagle and cashmere scarf queens, Keira and Dairine Kenned, below.

Earlier in the week, we had the best fun night at the Avoca Christmas gifts party in Suffolk Street where we drooled over the innate style of Avoca's creative director, Ros Walshe, pictured below with their marketing and business development whizz, Maoliosa Connell.

Sadie seems to be the baby name du jour. Amy Huberman chose it for her first-born, and now former Miss Ireland Sarah Morrissey has chosen it after giving birth to her first child last week. Of course, the clues were there as SadieCakes is Sarah's twitter handle and little Ms Jennings is a beauty, just like her mum.

I've been in Christmas mode since July, when I started into planning our glossy Mistletoe magazine which is published free with the Irish Independent and Herald next Friday. I thoroughly enjoyed early Irish turkey and sprouts at the M&S Masterclass which Carmel Breheny hosted at L'Ecrivain with chef Derry Clarke, pictured above, generously sharing lots of tips. I sat beside the ever glamorous Sallyanne Clarke, below, who was just back from the AGM of the Blue Book, which launched its 2017 directory the night before, with Catherine and Kevin Dundon hosting at Dunbrody House.

There are three new properties in the Blue Book collection of Country Houses - Belleek Castle, Co Mayo; Hilton Park Manor, Co Monaghan; and The Tannery Townhouse and Restaurant, Co Waterford.
