Ask Angela: Wedge boots

I see wedge boots are everywhere this season and love the idea of them. What's the best way to wear them?
The wedge has been around for years and continues to pop up on the catwalk season after season thanks to its ability to inconspicuously add inches and keep feet relatively snug. With a huge variety on the high streets at the moment there’s no excuse for anyone to not to be giving it a go. The comfort of the structure means you can afford to go higher on the heel and still manage to walk. Most of this season’s boots have a lightweight rubber base, making them light and easy to wear. So in a nutshell it isn’t just for the tall and skinny, but it certainly does help you get the look if that’s what you’re after.
My favourite at the moment are these River Island ones; wear with socks, shorts and an oversized T-shirt. They also look great teamed with skinny jeans or leather trousers.
If skinnies aren’t your thing, any jeans will work. Rolled-up boyfriend styles look particularly cool especially when they reveal a ribbed or coloured sock - very “front row” at fashion week.
For something a bit more girlie, a brown wedge looks great with a short sock and a floral dress. For an evening look add tights and a LBD and you’re good to go.
