Are these the new supermodels?
Could these beauties fill the shoes of Naomi, Claudia and Cindy et al and become the supermodels of the decade?
They're young, beautiful and all have huge campaigns under their collective tiny belts, but can they really match up to the likes of Naomi, Christy, Cindy, Linda and Claudia?
Cara Delevingne posted this Instagram picture of herself with fellow models Lily Donaldson, Lindsey Wixson, Alice Dellal and Karlie Kloss on her Twitter page yesterday and it got us wondering; could they be the new supers?
Delevingne, 19, is a relative newcomer. Her first big appearance was in Burberry's spring/summer 2011 campaign, a coup she followed up with a second campaign alongside actor Eddie Redmayne for the brand's spring/summer 2012 collection. The autumn/winter 2012 shows saw her take to the catwalk for big names such as Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana and Thakoon. She's very well-heeled, grew up in a plush Belgravia mansion and will make her screen debut (she hopes to get into acting full-time) in the upcoming Anna Karenina , alongside Keira Knightley.
Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm models, even told Vogue that Cara has "The most beautiful face in the most engaging personality, like her older sister Poppy. She is adorable and very talented. She also has the ability to shake up the energy in a room full of stuffy people and make people ask "who is that girl".
London-born Lily Donaldson, the eldest of the bunch at 25, has appeared on numerous Vogue covers and has fronted campaigns for the likes of Dior and Dolce & Gabbana. She's one of Britain's greatest exports and is often touted as one of the biggest models of the Noughties.
Lindsey Wixson, the Kansas-born baby of the group at just 18, is known for her rosebud pout, dimpled chin and heavily gapped front teeth. She has posed for the likes of Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen and Galliano, after overcoming school bullies to achieve her dream.
Dellal is an heiress to a property tycoon, the daughter of a Brazilian former model and sister of Charlotte Dellal, she of Charlotte Olympia shoe fame. She's fond of a piercing or two and was a pioneer of the 'undercut' (partially shaved head), and is most often spotted in ripped fishnets and short shorts. Very much a part of the London scene, she kicks around with the Pixie Geldof/Nick Grimshaw crew and drums in a band called Thrush Metal (eww). But don't let that fool you - she's scored a Chanel campaign , for their 'Boy' bags, and Karl Lagerfeld is rather fond of her.
American Karlie, also just 19, is best known for her powerful walk and unbelievably statuesque frame . She first hit the catwalk at the tender age of 15, and has since appeared in campaigns for the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Dior, and made her Victoria's Secret show debut last year. Galliano has even compared her to the supers of the Eighties, saying she was: "one of those girls, like a Naomi, like a Linda, like a Shalom. When I met her for the first time, I just went quiet."
