Chich cheat: Kaftan

A kaftan can go two ways. The first is lurid, hot pink, with batwing sleeves and some jewelled embellishment. The sort of thing Samantha would wear poolside, with marabou-trimmed mules, in a Sex and the City movie. Shudder.
Alternatively, there's the ethnic-print style in cotton, which is more a cool mini dress. The former is cheap and nasty, the latter is exactly the kind of thing we want for our holidays. Or possibly even for a particularly sunny day at home. This blue and white version from Accessorize, €70, is a near perfect homage to an Isabel Marant kaftan from a couple of seasons ago. But at a shadow of the price.
