Will and Jada 'ditch divorce plans' after daughter Willow's picture controversy
Will Smith and wife Jada have stopped talking about divorce, according to reports.
The Hollywood power couple were rumoured to have gone on a trial separation in September last year. But pictures of the After Earth star, 45, and his 42-year-old spouse looking happy and relaxed on the beach in Hawaii last week show that couple seem to be back in a happy place.
"They'd been discussing divorce and consulting lawyers but now they've decided to focus on making their marriage and family as strong as possible," an insider told Closer magazine. "They've realised how much they really need each other."
The source believes the recent photo scandal involving their 13-year-old daughter Willow has brought Will and Jada closer together. The image of Willow lying on a bed with former Disney Channel star Moisés Arias, 20, reportedly led to an investigation by the Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services.
"Jada was distraught over the picture scandal and Will has been by her side supporting her all the way," the insider continued.
It's now reported the investigation has been dropped.
Jada has spoken out directly to defend her daughter. The Matrix actress, who also has 15-year-old son Jaden with Will, believes the media are twisting the image into exactly what they want it to be.
"Here's the deal: there was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation," she told photographers at LAX airport last month, according to TMZ. "You guys are projecting your trash onto it, and you're acting like covert paedophiles, and that's not cool."
