Just watchin’ the game, havin’ a bud: Robert De Niro joined a hospitable group of football fans in their apartment to watch the USA v Germany game yesterday.
The two time Oscar Winner was filming his new movie The Intern in New York City yesterday, and was adamant he would not miss the game.
The Warner Brothers studio emailed a nearby apartment block in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill neighbouhood asking,
"Our lead actor, Robert De Niro, would very much like to watch the World Cup game, today at 12pm. Would it be possible to place a small portable satellite on the building rooftop ASAP and run a cable to the street to help facilitate this request?"
Instead, the veteran actor was invited to join a group watching the match in their apartment and so he proceeded to join them.
An apartment resident told Business Insider, "He's a true American. He has no problem hanging, he enjoyed it."
