Kate Middleton is expecting her third child - Kensington Palace announces
Kate Middleton is expecting her third child, Kensington Palace has announced.
The palace announced the Duchess of Cambridge's news on Monday morning.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are already parents to Prince George (4) and Princess Charlotte (2).
A statement released by the palace on social media site Twitter reads; "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.
"The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
"As with her two previous pregnancies, the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London today.
"The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace."
The 35-year-old announced the news just four days after the British royal family marked the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
They also recently marked Prince William's first day as a full-time royal after officially retiring from his work as a pilot with East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Prince William spent the day honouring his later mother Princess Diana's memory with wife Kate Middleton and brother Prince Harry.
The trio visited a garden created in her memory on the grounds of Kensington Palace, before the 20th anniversary of her death on Thursday. The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a striking silk print Prada dress with pussybow detail, which retails for €1,500.
As torrential rain fell, William, Kate and Harry, sheltering under umbrellas, toured the White Garden, inspired by memories of the Princess's life, style and image.
The temporary feature has been created in the palace's historic sunken garden, which also features pots of classic English white roses surrounding a reflective pool with ornamental grasses weaving through Cosmos daisies.
