Did Khloe Kardashian learn nothing from Pharrell William’s recent Elle magazine controversy?

To celebrate her niece North West’s first birthday, the reality tv star joined the Kardashian Klan to throw a Coachella inspired party.

Unsurprisingly Kim and Kanye spared no costs for the big occasion- which coincided with Father’s Day.

The high profile newlyweds organised a ‘Kidchella’ festival, which included a ferris wheel and music stage.

Khloe (29) shared a photo from her Instagram account which showed her sitting knees crossed in a large feathered headdress outside a miniature teepee.

She captioned the picture:

'Ray of clouds. Chirping of birds. Gurgling of water. Granting desire. One with water. #Kidchella my first Coachella!!!'.

Many of her 9 million followers were outraged at her decision to wear the sacred headpiece:

“It is disrespecting our culture we are not a trend or a fashion statement. btw only men wear headdresses and are used during special ceremonies so idk why she has one on it's very disrespectful,” one user commented.

Younger sister Kylie also posted a photo which shows Khloe’s head dress in more detail.

Khloe is just the latest in a long line of celebrities who have come under fire for posing in the traditional feathered head dress.

In 2012, Victoria’s Secret and Karlie Kloss were forced to publicly apologise when the model wore a Native American-inspired lingerie outfit during the brand’s annual fashion show.

Rapper Pharrell Williams also landed himself in hot water when he was criticised last month for wearing the headpiece in Elle magazine.
