Zayn Malik 'dumped fiancée Perrie Edwards by text message'
Zayn Malik reportedly dumped his girlfriend of four years by text message.
The former One Direction singer had been seeing Little Mix's Perrie Edwards since first meeting on the show in 2011 and the pair became engaged in 2013.
She was said to be his rock during his much hyped split from the band and the couple just bought a €4m mansion in London and it was thought they were keen to marry before the end of the year.
"He ended their engagement with one text message and in the two weeks since there's been complete radio silence between them," an insider exclusively told The Sun.
"She's devastated, which everyone understands, but is doing her best to focus on work and to put on a brave face in public."
Little Mix are currently promoting their latest album in the US and when asked by E! News how she was doing after the split, she simply responded "I'm good, thanks" before her bandmates intervened.
Just three weeks ago, Perrie was sharing loved-up snaps of them and the break-up is said to have blindsided her.
The pair's love was tested when Malik was pictured with blonde Lauren Richardson, 26, shortly before he quit One Direction.
Photographs emerged in March of community sports officer Ms Richardson holding hands with the singer in Thailand, and he left the band later that month.
At the time, Malik tweeted: ''I'm 22 years old, I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous f***s in this world, I'm sorry for what it looks like.''
Just last week, Malik said he will reveal the ''real me'' to fans, as he tweeted a picture showing him signing a new record contract.
