Gordon D'Arcy has spoken about how fatherhood has changed him.
The Leinster and Ireland rugby star has a four-month-old daughter Soleil with his wife, former model Aoife Cogan.
"Suddenly your priorities change and perspectives change and you worry about not being there," he told the Sunday Business Post.
"You just worry about things a lot more. I don't think there's anything that tops being a kid. You are blessed when it happens. We always planned it and now that she's here, she takes priority."
The 35-year-old also revealed that fatherhood has changed his idea of the ideal day off.
"That has changed massively over the years," he said. "It used to be just deciding where you were going for lunch with your teammates, now it's up early changing nappies and then spending time with my baby and my wife."
Gordon didn't make the selection for Ireland's World Cup squad which has given him time to focus on his family and businesses, including the Exchequer pub in Dublin and the Form School Pilates centre which he runs with Aoife.
He said he is still not used to his celebrity status in Ireland.
"Getting recognised means you're doing your job well and your team are doing well, but I don't pay a huge amount of attention to it.
"If someone wants to get a photograph or an autograph I'm happy to do that but I still kind of laugh and think, 'I'm not sure why you want this but okay.'"
